Description: 39.4 gram full slice of NWA 10214 LL3 (LL3-6). This is the host meteorite of the famed "Chimeric Clast (clast 6)", a completely new type of chondrite previously unknown to science. The clast and its host were studied by Dr. Alan E. Rubin at UCLA's Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics (IGPP). The Chimeric Clast (clast 6) displays characteristics of the Enstatite, Carbonaceous and Ordinary chondrites, but defies being grouped into any of these existing categories. As such, the clast represents a never before seen "ungrouped" chondrite completely new to meteoritics.
