61.9g Ungrouped Achondrite Meteorite Slice I NWA 6704
On Offer: 61.9 gram Ungrouped Achondrite beautiful slice of NWA 6704
Type: Achondrite - ung (Ungrouped)
Official name: NWA 6704
Description: 61.9 gram large slice of the Ungrouped Achondrite NWA 6704. Amazing space crystals from a meteorite with unknown origins. This meteorite comes from a large unknown differentiated body, where the magma reservoir that created it was able to cool very slowly and form large pyroxene and olivine crystals.
What large parent body was it? Not mars, not the Moon, not Vesta, and not any of the undifferentiated asteroids. So where from then? They just don't know. It defies any of the existing taxonomical categories, and hence the classification Achondrite Ungrouped. An ungrouped meteorite is very different than an unclassified meteorite. This meteorite has been fully analyzed and classified but defies existing classification schemas and therefor has been designated "ungrouped".
This is the largest slice ever known to be produced from this very friable and difficult to keep intact meteorite. This specimen comes with impeccable provenance. This slice comes directly from the Hupe Collection. I personally traded with Greg Hupe for this and several others slices and fragments during the 2018 Tucson show.
What you get: 61.9 gram slice of the Ungrouped Achondrite NWA 6704 Meteorite Specimen as Shown, Membrane Storage/Display Box, & signed Certificate of Authenticity.
I offer a 100% no questions asked 30 day return policy.
