Tucson Ring 18.3g | Partial Slice
TUCSON RING - 18.3 GRAMS
This is one of a very limited few pieces of the legendary and historic Tucson Ring iron meteorite. Only a very small amount of this iron meteorite was removed from the original mass, which is on permanent display at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in the Hall of Geology, Gems and Minerals.
This 18.3g partial slice is one of two specimens created when the original ~40g slice from the Harvard University Mineralogical & Geological Museum's collection was butterflied into two sections.
The Tucson Ring is perhaps the most famous and enigmatic of all the major US iron meteorites. Its massive iconic ring shape, and near unavailability on the market make it a collector's prize.
