Pallasite Meteorite 40.76g amazing dumbbell shape XRF verified
Description: Amazing oriented dumbbell shaped unclassified pallasite meteorite. A+++ collector specimen. It has a mass of 40.76 grams and is an unclassified pallasite meteorite that has been verified using the Niton FLX 950 XRF Field Laboratory to have sufficient bulk % of Ni to be of meteoritic origin. It was purchased from a nomad while on out most recent expedition to Western Sahara. This is not the Sericho pallasite from Kenya. This specimen was found in Western Sahara.
"Pallasites were once thought to originate at the core-mantle boundary of differentiated asteroids that were subsequently shattered through impacts. An alternative recent hypothesis is that they are impact-generated mixtures of core and mantle materials".
