Selling a Meteorite or Meteorite Collection?
Top Meteorite wants to buy your meteorite or meteorite collection, if the price is right. We are most interested in classified full collections, falls, large irons, and rare scientifically significant specimens. however, we will consider anything. Top Meteorite is a for profit business, so please understand we cannot pay retail prices for your meteorite(s). If we are interested, Top Meteorite will offer a fare wholesale price that will allow us to cover our time and expenses and make a realistic profit. For more information and to get the ball rolling, use the email contact form at the bottom of this page.
Consignment Vs. Sale
If you can afford to wait, and prefer to get top dollar for your meteorite(s), you may want to consider consignment. If the specimen(s) meet Top Meteorite's basic consignment requirements and you agree with our retail appraisal, we will gladly list your specimen or collection on our website & in our other marketing efforts. A consignment fee of between 20% and 50% of the final sale price will be assessed depending on the price point and marketability of the item being consigned. This fee may also vary depending on the nature of the specimen or collection and how likely we feel it will sell in a timely manner.
Classified Vs. Unclassified
We do sometimes buy unclassified meteorites from our trusted suppliers around the world, but generally we only buy classified meteorites with an official name from the Meteoritical Society's Nomenclature Committee. If you aren't sure what you have, send us an email using the contact form below, or give us a call at +1 (928) 821-0183 and we will walk you through the process of determining if your stone has already been classified or requires further analysis.
