Writeup from MB 20: MUONIONALUSTA II, Kitkiojöki, Norrbotten; 67°46'N, 23°15'E. FOUND, August 15, 1946. IRON, octahedrite of fine structure. 1 specimen, weight about 15 kg. The meteorite was discovered during the earthwork at a building site about 8 km to the east-southeast of the place where the Muonionalusta I iron meteorite was found in 1906. DISCOVERY OF MUONIONALUSTA III IRON METEORITE, SWEDEN Name: MUONIONALUSTA III. The place of fall or discovery: About 3.5 km ENE of the village of Kitkiojoki, Sweden; φ = 67°47'N; λ = 23°21'E. Date of fall or discovery: FOUND, June 7, 1963. Class and type: IRON; octahedrite. Number of individual specimens: 1 Total weight: 6.20 kg. Circumstances of the fall or discovery: The meteorite was found by Mr. Carl Henriksson in excavated material used for the construction of a causeway.
